I've had this for a couple of months and used it on 3 of the last 5 boating trips I've been on. I've found it to be perfectly usable for hooking on to the dock and pulling the boat in that last metre or so. Before buying this I used to try to try and get the boat close to the dock so I could grab on, or throw a rope round a cleat. However, now I tend to get within a metre or two and just use this to pull me in.
